Château Faurie de Souchard 2009

First time Faurie de Sochard is noted since 1982. 88/91
Wine Spectator - april 2010 - En primeur
"My best note attributed to this wine "En primeur": since 2007 this wine enriches its body in the course of the years...Touched by the hail this year, the result appears nevertheless as the best never had. The color is dark and the discreet nose with notes of ripe fruits. In mouth the wine shows itself fatter that it appears to it, with a style always soft and a softer character on this vintage wine. Good delicious and pleasant length on a beautiful quality of tannins. A revival. 15,25/20"
Jean Marc Quarin (France) - april 2010 - En primeur
A new generation and Stéphane Derenoncourt are steadily getting this cru up to speed. Lively, fresh and harmonious in style. Drink 2015-2025. (16 points)
Decanter (UK) - april 2010
Recent vintages seem to be moving more toward charm and near-term drinkability. The dense ruby/purple-tinged 2009 reveals notes of black cherries, black currants, earth, and herbs as well as an unexpected striking minerality. Full-bodied, dense, and slightly monolithic, but also big and powerful, this effort should reveal more nuances with time, and will last for 10-15 years. (Tasted once.) - 87-89/100
Wine advocate - Robert Parker - may 2010
Excellent : delicious flavors ranging from black liquorice, blackberry, black cherry to mint and cinnamon. Integrated tannins, and a long, tasty fruit finish are compelling reasons to want this wine.
John Foy - july 2010
Opens with crushed stone, black berry and licorice scent. This round style of wine will drink early - 87-89/100
